Diablo 4’s growing success proves that the game has improved upon many of its predecessors’ shortcomings, but some new players can still find the game a bit too challenging, especially for the casuals. Learn more.

As such, following from Part 1 and Part 2 released throughout the past two (2) weeks, here are a few final tips for you to be mindful of, if this is your first time entering Sanctuary:

Diablo 4 Tips (Part 3)

  • Build your character around debilitating effects

  • Every character class has a specific build that focuses on inflicting different harmful debuffs on enemies, like Bleed or Poison.

  • When going up against tougher foes later in the game, these are much more effective at reducing their Life (HP) because high-levelled Bosses and elites usually have significantly better Defences over smaller minions.

  • Prioritise maximising your build’s debilitating potency over its raw Damage instead, as weapons’ Attack Power normally scales according to their tier, but your character’s skill synergies will go far beyond that limit when built accordingly.

  • Stay your overconfidence

  • Unlike Diablo 3, Diablo 4 is more conscious about your combat positioning and enemy threat levels.

  • Unless you’re already donning all Legendaries, always be wary of the potential danger that the next horde of monsters can pose to you.

  • Death isn’t really punishing in Diablo 4, but you definitely don’t want to waste your time retracing your steps after being slain and sent back to your last waypoint, especially if yours was an entire region away!

  • Retreat if things go awry

  • Similarly, if fights aren’t going your way, you can always retreat to come back stronger another day.

  • There’s no shame in it, really, because it’s part of the learning experience for new players to the franchise.

  • Understanding Bosses’ attack patterns can take some time, notably in Nightmare or Torment difficulty, and you’ll be thankful for not dying too much, knowing when to back away from an unnecessary fight when you’re not prepared for it.

  • Pin locations on the map

  • Sanctuary is a LARGE world in Diablo 4, and you can easily get lost when exploring every town, Dungeon, and World Event.

  • If there’s a specific place that you want to go, you can simply open up the map and pin that location accordingly.

  • This way, you don’t have to regularly prompt the map to see where you’re going anymore because a predetermined path will be highlighted for you in case you need it.

  • Mount up!

  • Diablo 4 is the first in the franchise to introduce in-game mounts, and they are extremely helpful for you to avoid combat while travelling to different places quickly.

  • Getting your first mount is a bit of a chore, though, as you’ll need to reach a certain point in the main storyline in order to do so.

  • If you find walking through endless mobs is boring, then you should focus on the campaign until you get your dependable stead to help you cross those distances instead!

So, with all of these in mind (including those in Part 1 and Part 2), you’ll surely find your Diablo 4 experience much more pleasant now.
